It can be found from June to October on meadows, in moist habitats and also on dry grass, at roadsides and in moors.Lifestyle and special aspectsThe grasshopper grows up to 13 - 23 mm in size and can differ in colour; the basic colouring fluctuates between green, brown, yellow and red. Even multi-coloured animals are possible. Chorthippus parallelus lives off plants and is one of the last locus species to survive in overfertilised rich meadows. |
