Distribution and habitat
These beetles are wide spread throughout the whole of Europe and appear from April to September. They like to sit on flowers. They are to be found in bushy countryside, gardens, parks and on the edge of woods.
Lifestyle and special aspects
The rose chafer measuring 1.5 to 2 cm has varied colouring, including green, golden or even multi-coloured.
The white spots on the tops of the wings can also vary.
Cetonia aurata feed off pollen and nectar together with ripe fruit. |
